I'm not usually one for making new year resolutions. Mainly because I have so little will power that I'm pretty sure I would fail far too quickly for them to count, but this year I feel the need to sort myself out a bit, to get focussed on the big picture and what better time to start?
I've lost count of the amount of times people have commented on my great organisational skills, but I've got to admit that I've never felt like I'm a very organised person at all and am always a bit amazed that anyone would say it. This year I resolve to live up to those expectations - I've got my wall planner and notice board, my to-do list, a staff timetable, and a bit of a year plan forming... I'm looking forward to seeing how it all pans out...
So, what are your new year resolutions? And have you managed to keep them so far? Best comment gets a wee goodie bag of stuff from Hannah Zakari to get your 2011 off to a fabulous start!

Happy New Year!
One of my resolutions is to learn more crafts and I'm starting my crochet course next week :)
Another one on the list is to visit Edinburgh again as I went just before your shop opened last year.

Hannah!
I'm moving to London for the first time on Monday so have a very exciting year ahead of me, if not also a bit stressful!
My New Year's Resolution is to start my career up, get some new work experience and make my own blog as nice and shiny as yours is! :-D
I've quit my job and purchased a domain last January 1, 2011. I'm fulfilling a dream of setting up a small business online. We'll see how it goes! :D
I have decided to knitt a scarf to get over an ex boyfriend - the idea - once the scarf is finished, so is the heartache! I also plan to enter the tough guy challenge next jan - so I have to get fit enough to cope with and army stylee assault course! Wish me luck... x
Last year I vowed to lose weight and I lost 6 stone! So this year having got a brand spangly new retro KitchenAid for Christmas I plan to turn my fav past time baking into something more and start a cupcakerie full of delicious (yet healthy...ish!) cakes and bakes that hopefully look as beautiful as they taste, with a little vintage inspiration from you as always!...wish me luck!
My main resolution is to balance uni and work better. I'm a art student so I'd like to balance developing my design and business skills!
Passing my driving test is a close second though!
Happy New Year,
Emma
Mine is to eat more chocolate, make more jewellery, make more money and spend more money! :)
I can't keep up with serious ones, I only let myself down! lol

My New Year’s resolutions are to be nicer, to refrain from using a certain swear word and to be more honest. I currently have £47 in my swear box. eeek.
I am aiming to have as much fun as possible and try to worry less about the trivial things in 2011. Hopefully it shouldn't be too hard to keep up...
Obviously winning this would be a pretty great start to 2011 too!
Happy New Year!
I resolve to actually hang wallpaper and paint whole walls in my livingroom rather than tape up endless samples ordered from websites and paint tester patches...
Then I'll be able to cover the holes where the hideous shelves were and hang my lovely stuff!
And it'll become more Mad Men than Edinburgh 'burbs.
Oh...and pop into the shop more often.
Well, having lost 2010 to pregnancy and new mumming I'm vowing to get back to crafting and being a crafty mama!
I found out I've got no job to go back to after my maternity leave finishes so my resolution is to try and find a way to create a crafty type job and spend lots of time with little one (can we all say 'mission impossible?!')
I don't believe in big resolutions so:
To paint my nails every week, current fav is matt grey,
To always wear one amazing piece of jewellery or a fab scarf, and
To be a better present buyer - i always forget birthdays!
My biggest resolution is getting a good job.
I quit my old job because I really didn't like the place and/or the other employees. I expected to find a new job immediately, but, alas, six months later, I am still unemployed.
Luckily, my parents can help me out money-wise, but I truly miss working with other people: the jokes, shared meals etc.
Hopefully, 2011 will be my lucky year, and I will get the job of my dreams.
Eat more chocolate,
drink more wine,
buy more dresses!
I wish! Probably doing a lot less of all that this year as I've jacked in my job of 10 years to work for myself as a photographer/general creator of pretty things and look after my one year old little fella. Whoop!
Hello :)
This year I'm applying to university, so hopefully and fingers crossed I will get an offer, three interviews so far! But main point, to keep sane whilst waiting for any news :)
kooky xx
I decided to make sort of un-resolutions this year as a major thing for me is spending too much time worrying and not actually enjoying life! So I didn't fancy the idea of resolutions that I would feel under pressure to achieve so instead I am going to be about freedom, loving live, smiling more, making other people smile and giving out great positive energy and just appreciating life!!xxx
Hello! I prefer to call NY resolutions "recommendations", which sounds like there is less pressure involved! My new years recommendation is to have faith in my abilities, and to work towards full self-employment making pretty things, wooooohoooooo!
hello and crafty jewellers
I hope this year to get better as i've been unwell for 2010.
I hope to gain confidence and start selling the jewellery I make, I have sold two necklaces so far. YAY
I hope to lose weight and get out and meet people as been too reclusive. Maybe I'll vist Edinburgh and see the Hannah Zakari shop.
wish me luck please good luck to everyone and happy new year
my resolution for this year is to find the courage to declare my love to a visionary, eclectic, poetic man. uhh... i'm already embarassed in writing it. it'll be so hard, but I have to take the risk, no matter if i'll fail.

My resolution for this year is to be more kind and generous - to buy the Big Issue, to give more to charity and to try and get back into fundraising, and to spend more time with my grandparents. So far I've sponsored two of my friends who are doing skydives, and I've seen one set of grandparents near enough every day this year... doing pretty well so far!
I am going to organise every 4-6 weeks an activity for our group of friends, 2010 was a bit rubbish on the getting together socially scale. Even if it is going out for a long walk to a pub on a Sunday, or going to the seaside for the day. Now to get planning...
My New Year Resolution is to BE HAPPY! That is an achievable thing. Whatever else comes will be a bonus. Happy 2001 everyone!!
Mine is to be kind. Covers most things, really. I've already stumbled a few times this year, but it feels like the kind of resolution it would be wrong to give up! xx
Last year I did 10 things to achieve in 2010 and achieved 6.5 and this year I've made 11 goals for 2011 and I do this instead of resolutions. I suppose my resolution is to achieve as many as possible!
This year I have:
1. Complete my Wreck this journal
2. Pay off my credit card and either destroy it or put it away for emergencies
3. Make £200 from selling unwanted stuff around the house
4. Turn the spare room into an office
5. Aim to eat a piece of fruit or a fruit based product every day
6. Find one of those "books that everyone MUST read before they die" lists and read 5
7. Go on the Eurostar.
8. Add a new country to my list of countries visited -
9. Do a self development course, assertiveness training for example.
10. See the Northern lights.
11. Attend and evening class
I'm most excited about number 10 :)
