Over the years I've had a lot of emails asking me stuff about my job, really a lot! They mainly come from students looking for help with dissertations, people who are thinking about starting their own business wondering if I can offer them any advice, and designers interested in selling on HZ but wanting some more information before applying.
In the past I've always tried my best to reply to them as quickly as I could but, well, maybe over the last year or so I've kind of stopped... This isn't because I'm really horrible and don't want to help, usually I'm busy and they get put to the back of the queue after customer/designer emails then - sorry! - forgotten about, and it's sometimes because the questions are just too prying. That might sound a little strange, but really, I'm not going to tell any old person how much I turnover each year or who my suppliers are! And just one last little bug bear is that of the many people I have helped out, 9 out of 10 don't even email back to say thanks (usually the students!). Maybe I expect too much but manners are free people!
Anyway, to get around the problem of me not having enough time to reply to every email I thought I'd do a question and answer session type thing on this blog and reply to my most frequently asked questions. I'll be covering in depth how I got started, business tips, sale or return and wholesale, how I choose designers for HZ and anything else I can think of.
If there is anything you'd like me to cover drop me an email, tweet me or leave a comment here and I'll do my best to answer your questions in the FAQ's.
I'll try and get the first post up in the next day or two...

People ask for your salary? That's very cheeky indeed!
I would love to know what methods you found best in marketing yourself and your business, how long did it take you to build up a fan base or get your name out there? :)
Answers/advice appreciated! :D
Hello :)
I'm going to do a marketing blog at some point so will definitely try and cover your questions.

wow that is so cheeky!
I've had 1 or 2 random emails from students asking me things like 'how I started' etc I replied in depth once and because she never said thank you I realised 'never again!'
Like you said manners are free :D
Oh great, look forward to reading it! :) x
I also have quite a few emails asking where I've got my stock! In fact, recently I had one which said "Oh, I see you have xx from xx, so can you tell me where you got xx?" as if I'd be impressive with their detective work. Love this little series.
